About

Founded in 1959 by soccer players wanting off-season fitness, Savages grew to become SA's largest club at one point. Based in Durban's Stamford Hill area. Notable Comrades winners include Dave Bagshaw (hat trick 1969–71) and Tilda Tearle (1993). Hosts the annual Savages Challenge half marathon.
